DBACT is inviting expressions of interest for the ACT Fire coaching team for the 2022 - 23 season.
The intent is to field crews for the 2022 & 2023 Australian Championships despite the short lead up to the 2022 event.
The following positions are available:
- Head Coach ACT Fire
- Assistant coaches x 3
The appointment by DBACT of a Head Coach will be followed by the selection of three (3) Assistant Coaches who will be appointed by the Head Coach in consultation with DBACT.
Essential - Head Coach:
- Current coaching qualifications
- Knowledge of racing rules and other relevant polices
- Ability to run paddler EOI and make impartial selections
- The ability to formulate and conduct selection camps and training sessions
- Ability to mentor and support coaching team
- Ability to develop athletes
- Commitment to work with DBACT committee to advance and develop ACT Fire
Essential – Assistant Coaches:
- Current coaching qualifications or experience if not yet qualified
- Ability to take direction from the Head Coach
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to be impartial
Essential – Coaching Team:
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current WWVP card
- Financial member of DBACT or other AusDBF association
Your expression of interest should address the above criteria and include:
- What position or positions you are interested in
- Your current coaching qualifications/accreditation level
- Coaching experience (dragon boating or other)
Your ability to commit to the coaching team for a period of two (2) years.

DBACT expects that a decision on the Head Coach position will be made by 12 December.
